Article 1. General
1. International Interface Co., Ltd. (“International Interface”), which operates this website (“this Website”), shall respect the privacy of users of this Website (“Users”) and shall pay careful attention to the management of Users’ personal information.
2. To protect Users’ personal information responsibly, International Interface has formulated the policy set forth below, and implements, maintains and carries out continuous improvements to the policy. International Interface complies with laws and regulations and other standards in relation to the protection of personal information.
Article 2. Personal Information
1. In this Privacy Policy, “Personal Information” means information referred to in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information about a living individual which can identify the specific individual by name, address, telephone number, email address or other description contained in such information (including such information as will allow easy reference to other information and will thereby enable the identification of the specific individual).
Article 3. Collection of Personal Information
1. International Interface shall acquire Personal Information by lawful and fair means, and shall not acquire it by unauthorized methods contrary to the intentions of Users.
2. When International Interface collects Personal Information, it shall provide notification of or publicly announce the purpose of utilization of the Personal Information in advance.
Article 4. Purpose of Utilization of Personal Information
1. International Interface shall utilize Personal Information, etc. collected from Users for the following purposes:
(1) Strategic investment consulting, technology research, market research, information provision services, multilingual production, translation and interpreting, mediating real estate transactions, travel agency services, and more;
(2) Transmitting and sending quotations, invoices and deliverables, etc., announcing services, campaigns, events and research reports, etc., displaying and distributing advertisements, and providing various types of information distribution services;
(3) Responding to opinions, requests and inquiries, etc.;
(4) Employing employees, translators and interpreters, etc., and carrying out services outsourcing agreements;
(5) Providing cautions or warnings to Users who have contravened or are likely to contravene any rules or terms of this Website; and
(6) Requesting payment of debts by Users who owe debts to International Interface.
2. If it becomes necessary to utilize Personal Information for purposes other than the purposes of utilization specified in the preceding paragraph, the consent of Users with respect to the utilization shall be obtained, except in cases where the prior consent of Users has been obtained, or it is recognized to be handled as an exception under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws and regulations.
Article 5. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
1. In accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and the Certified Administrative Procedures Legal Specialist Act, International Interface will not disclose or provide Personal Information, etc. collected by it to third parties; provided, however, that this shall not apply to cases falling under any of the following items:
(1) Cases in which disclosure is recognized under laws and regulations;
(2) Cases in which disclosure is required under laws and regulations;
(3) Cases in which disclosure is necessary to protect the life, person or property of an individual and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual; and
(4) Cases in which disclosure is required by police, prosecutors, a court, a consumer affairs center or other public authority.
Article 6. Management of Personal Information, etc.
1. To ensure the accuracy and security of Personal Information, International Interface shall take reasonable measures against unauthorized access to Personal Information, leaking, loss of or damage to Personal Information and other risks; provided, however, that International Interface shall provide no warranties whatsoever to Users with respect to the complete prevention of unauthorized access to Personal Information, leaking, loss of or damage to Personal Information and other risk.
Article 7. Maintenance of Currency and Accuracy of Personal Information, etc.
1. International Interface shall endeavour to maintain the accuracy and currency of Users’ Personal Information, etc. to the extent necessary for achieving the purpose of utilization.
Article 8. Inquiries, etc. by Users
1. If International Interface receives an inquiry from a User about the User’s Personal Information, or a request to correct, add to, delete or discontinue utilization of, or erase such Personal Information, it shall verify the identity of the individual in question. If International Interface judges that the inquiry, etc. is by the User in question, it shall respond to the inquiry, etc. within a reasonable period.
Article 9. Changes to Purpose of Utilization, etc.
1. Changes to this Privacy Policy such as changes to the purpose of utilization or management methods, etc. of Personal Information shall come into effect when International Interface publishes the revised Privacy Policy on this Website. Further, International Interface may make such changes without prior notice.
Article 10. Exemptions
1. If International Interface acquires a User’s Personal Information from a third party, it shall have no liability whatsoever in cases falling under the following:
(1) Cases in which the User revealed the Personal Information to the third party using a function of this Website or other means;
(2) Cases in which the User ratified the acquisition of the Personal Information by the third party; and
(3) Cases in which the Personal Information was acquired from another website linked to this Website.
2. International Interface shall have no liability whatsoever in relation to privacy protection on websites that are linked to this Website. Visits to linked websites, etc. shall be made under the User’s own responsibility.
